Why being a physician recruiter matters.

Being a physician recruiter is not an easy profession. The stress is high, the challenges are many and things seem to be getting tougher ever year. Budgetary resources are often tightened and more competition for less physicians makes filling open physician opportunities a tremendous challenge. With all this stacked against us it’s important to step back for a minute and recognize how important our role is in the fabric of national healthcare delivery.

Whether you recruit for a major health system, small rural hospital, retained search firm or a Locum Tenens organization, what you do really matters. It is because of our efforts that someone walking into an ER in rural Kentucky, late on a Friday night is going to be seen by an attentive caring physician. It is because of our efforts that a Family Medicine physician in small town Iowa can finally retire knowing that the practice he built over many decades will now be in the caring hands of an energetic young physician with ties to the community. It is because of our efforts that a Hospitalist program in Texas will not miss a beat transitioning to a new group, knowing locums firms have provided excellent temporary coverage with well trained and experienced physicians.

Unlike so many jobs out there. our end result is not the sale of a widget but rather the delivery of qualified care by trained professionals to ensure patients are taken care of at all times. Yes the struggle is real and at times everything that can go wrong will but remember that at the end of it all is a patient receiving care that would noot have happened if not for YOU!
